Arenthia was the most powerful nation known in the world. King Thalandor was thought by many to be the greatest king to ever live. Arenthia had the strongest army in all the land with the greatest technology. The heads of the army quickly became to overconfident,after easily defeating the many attempted invasions far outside the countries walls. One night the watchman rang the attack bell and the soldiers took up arms. As they looked out over the ramparts, the ground itself seemed to sway, but that was simply the army of greenskins waiting to scale the walls of castle Thalandor. Outnumbered and caught off guard the orcs quickly siezed the upper hand. After days of fighting Arenthia fell. The walls crumbled beneath the feat of their orcish invaders, one by one those remaining were systematically found and killed . After many years the once great kingdom seemed like a distant memory.
However all was not lost. King Thalandor’s chief advisor, Kaleb escaped with a select few of men and formed the war band named after their destroyed kingdom. The Knights of Thalandor. Kaleb went on his quest to rid the land of the orcs by recruiting the many victims of the orcs cruelty. Kaleb lived on and watched many of his men pass away from old age only to be replaced by new recruits. Many believed it was his determination that kept him from aging. I was privileged enough to know this was not the case. Kaleb was a half vampire. A demon and man.Gifted with all of the vampires strengths with none of its weaknesses.
The Knights of Thalandor became brothers in arms with it's new allies the black rock orcs. For many years they fought united and worked for the same cause. However as with most alliances it fell apart. The black rock orcs wished to stay separate where as Kaleb wished them to become members of the Knights of Thalandor. I’m sure there was more to this but I know nothing more as I was just a soldier, nothing more and hadn’t begun to move up the ranks. After the falling out the black rock orcs formed a country by the name of Eletheria. This as you know is the country we have a strainded alliance with to this date.
After the split dark times fell upon the knights. Many of the knights fell in battle or to the curse of old age and with morale low some left only to be hunted down by the orcs while they were separated. The knights were at their lowest and it didn’t seem like things were going to be getting better. There ranks stabilized and things were looking up. Kaleb and a few trusted knights had a secret meeting one night. Kaleb had a plan to get Arenthia back. After all was in place we had our war.After many days of fighting Kaleb and the knights finally had a victory.
Within no time at all Arenthia was founded. A new system of governmentt was instilled that was working in other areas. With a system of voting the leader and council was picked. Kaleb and I were voted onto the council and there were many new faces voted into more powerful offices than what we held. Arenthia was once again a striving country. After a short time it was thought by many that having an army was barbaric and should be done away with immediately. Kaleb and I gathered the men who still wanted to protect this country and formed a militia. We became known by the people as the Myrmidons. We were banished from the country but roamed the woods to protect Arenthia.
After thwarting an attempted attack the governmentt was overthrown and the old style of rule was instilled. Kaleb was the first thought as king but all thought he did not age I could tell that he was worn out. He also knew that being king would mean that he would never die and with that power he also was well aware that absolute power corrupts absolutely so he left but is in the reserve division should we ever need him. I became king and have been ever since. My first act was to declare Arenthia dead. That country died along time ago and it was time for a new start with a bit of remembrance. I declared the country Thalandor to forever remember the ideals of the greatest king to ever live and as a goal for all future kings to strive to be.
